Boyle is the birthplace of actress Maureen O'Sullivan, her birthplace marked with a plaque is right across the street from us. Maureen O'Sullivan was born in Boyle in 1911, her father was an officer with the Connaught Rangers who served in the 1914-1918 war.
She played the role of Jane opposite co-star Johnny Weissmuller in the Tarzan movies. Her daughter Mia Farrow was married to Frank Sinatra and Woody Allen.
